Teach players to get into a fast rhythm in transition offense by racing up the floor, converting and moving quickly back in the opposite direction to score again.
Players need constant repetitions on how to best attack in transition, which isn’t always necessarily having one player dribbling the length of the floor (although some guards may want it that way).
There is one player under the hoop with a line of players waiting in the lane. There is a second group of players in the corner and a third group located on the wing. The first player in each line run through these actions.
1 starts by tossing the ball off the background and grabbing the rebound. 2 curls toward the ball and toward the middle to receive a pass from 1. 1 passes to 2, then 2 takes a couple dribbles up the floor. 3 has started sprinted up the floor. 2 makes the long pass to 3 on the move [1]. 3 catches the ball, dribbles to the hoop and scores. After making the pass, 2 hustles down the floor to grab the ball out of the net for the next inbound. 1 runs to the 3-point line, curls to the opposite side and starts moving in the opposite direction [2]. 2 inbound passes to 3, 3 makes a long pass ahead to 1, who catches on the run, puts the ball on the floor and scores at the rim [3].
The rotation is 1 goes to the 2 line, 2 to the 3 line and 3 to the 1 line as the actions continue with the next players at the front of the lines.
